Side bets
Pair and Perfect Pair bets pay 11:1 and 25:1 and carry edges far above the main bets. If you play them, keep them to a small, fixed share of each stake, so a long session does not turn into a side-bet session.
Betting systems, honestly
- Martingale: double after a loss. From R5, eight losses in a row needs a R1,280 bet, and table limits may stop you first.
- Fibonacci: a gentler climb along 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8; the same edge, slower losses.
- 1-3-2-4: raises stakes after wins; a pacing tool, not a winning one.
No system changes the 1.06% edge on the banker. Use them only to keep stakes consistent.
Bankroll in rand
- Bet in units of 1% to 2% of your session money: R10 units on a R500 to R1,000 session.
- Set a loss cap per session and stop when you reach it.
- In speed games, lower the unit; more hands per hour means more cost.
Bonuses and demo play
Many bonuses count baccarat at 10% or exclude it, so a R1,000 bonus at 30x could need R300,000 of baccarat bets. Use RNG baccarat in demo mode to learn the variants before staking real money.
